I came across this tasty salad bar shortly after I started my Instagram blog, so if you’ve been following me for a while you already know about them. Urban Cravings is bringing the city fresh salads, rice bowls, smoothies, and so much more. It’s a must try.
Located across the street from the St. Catharines hospital is the busy salad bar serving customers a wide variety of items. Inside you’ll find owner Tara and her staff working away on orders.
With such a fine tuned operation you’d be hard pressed to believe that Tara came to the realization she was opening the store front at 3:00 am on Tuesday, and then a lease agreement in place by Friday. Once you talk to her for about 5 minutes you realize shes an incredibly driven and hard-working person who pays attention to every detail.
Those traits very clearly translate to her amazing staff. Everyone is incredibly welcoming, friendly, and can answer any questions you might have.
One thing you should know about Urban Cravings – they are so much more than salads. You can find smoothies, rice bowls. burritos, wraps, and quinoa bowls. If you’re on that keto kick or looking for catering they can help you out too.
That’s one of the best things about Urban Cravings, Tara and her team are always adding new items to the menu that are worth trying. Now for my favourites!
Favourites
1. Tex Mex with Cilantro Lime Dressing
It’s really hard to pick a couple favourites because I love so many things on their menu. But if it’s your first time and you like rice bowls I would go for this one. It tastes fresh and is filling. I always add avocado because life is too short to live without avocado in your rice bowls.
corn, jalapeño, beans, cheddar, pico de gallo, lime, cilantro
2. Spicy Asian Crunch
Love this salad. Unique, crunchy, and has some kick. It has: Jalapeno, Edamame, Green onions, Mandarin oranges, Crispy Chinese noodles, Sesame seeds. I like to add chicken or falafel on this one.
3. Ice Coffee
This ones pretty simple. I live my life on caffeine…
